Google integrations.
Connect Google Analytics, Google Ads, Google Tag Manager and Google Search Console to understand store performance and take authorised action.
Overview and purpose
Vortex IQ connects Google Analytics, Google Ads, Google Tag Manager and Google Search Console to help merchants understand performance, review tracking and carry out authorised optimisation tasks through an AI-powered chat interface.
Ask questions about traffic, advertising and organic search, review recommendations and request supported changes from one workspace. Each service is accessed only when you authorise its connection.
Google Analytics
Understand how visitors find and use your store, and how that activity contributes to purchases and revenue. Vortex IQ retrieves GA4 account and property information and reporting metrics such as users, sessions, traffic sources, events, conversions and revenue to support dashboards, reports and AI-assisted analysis.
This integration is read only for Google Analytics. It does not change GA4 settings, events or properties.
| Permission requested | What it allows and why it is needed |
|---|---|
https://www.googleapis.com/auth/analytics.readonlyRead only | Read Analytics data to produce reports, explain performance trends and identify improvement opportunities. |
Google Ads
Review campaign, ad group and keyword performance, including impressions, clicks, CTR, CPC, conversions, cost per acquisition and ROAS. Vortex IQ uses this data to compare results, identify optimisation opportunities and support authorised changes such as pausing underperforming ads or adjusting budgets.
Google Ads changes are user-initiated. Connecting an account does not by itself authorise Vortex IQ to change campaign data automatically.
| Permission requested | What it allows and why it is needed |
|---|---|
https://www.googleapis.com/auth/adwordsRead and write | Access and manage Google Ads accounts and data. This broad permission supports both reporting and authorised optimisation actions. It is not a read-only permission. |
Google Tag Manager
Review the tracking configuration used by your store, including containers, workspaces, tags, triggers and variables. Vortex IQ supports reviewing configuration, preparing requested changes, managing container versions and publishing authorised updates.
Editing a workspace and publishing a container are separate actions. Publishing applies the selected version to its target environment and can affect live tracking. Changes and publication must be authorised by the user.
Tag Manager configuration is used to assess how tracking is set up. Traffic and sales performance come from the other connected reporting services.
| Permission requested | What it allows and why it is needed |
|---|---|
https://www.googleapis.com/auth/tagmanager.readonlyRead only | View containers and their components to inspect tracking configuration. |
https://www.googleapis.com/auth/tagmanager.edit.containersRead and write | Edit container components, including tags, triggers and variables, for requested tracking changes. This permission excludes versioning and publishing. |
https://www.googleapis.com/auth/tagmanager.edit.containerversionsRead and write | Create and manage container versions for the requested deployment workflow. |
https://www.googleapis.com/auth/tagmanager.publishRead and write | Publish a container version when the user authorises its deployment. |
Google Search Console
Understand how your verified website performs in Google Search. Vortex IQ uses search queries, pages, clicks, impressions, click-through rate, average position and available sitemap information to identify organic search opportunities and support SEO reporting.
Management access supports user-requested Search Console actions such as submitting or removing sitemap entries. Submitting a sitemap does not guarantee crawling, indexing or improved rankings.
| Permission requested | What it allows and why it is needed |
|---|---|
https://www.googleapis.com/auth/webmasters.readonlyRead only | Read Search Console data for connected sites to generate reports and recommendations. |
https://www.googleapis.com/auth/webmastersRead and write | View and manage Search Console data for connected sites, including authorised sitemap management. |
Account identity
Alongside the service permissions above, the connection reads basic account identity so your workspace can show which Google account is connected.
| Permission requested | What it allows and why it is needed |
|---|---|
openidRead only | Identify the Google account used for the connection. |
https://www.googleapis.com/auth/userinfo.emailRead only | Read the primary Google Account email address to identify the connected account. |
https://www.googleapis.com/auth/userinfo.profileRead only | Read basic profile information, such as name and profile picture, to display the connected account. These permissions do not grant Gmail inbox access. |
Connecting your Google account
- Start the connection from your authenticated Vortex IQ workspace.
- Sign in with Google and review the permissions requested.
- Select the relevant accounts, properties, containers or sites within Vortex IQ.
- Use the connected features to ask questions, review reports or request supported actions.
Where you enable scheduled reporting, Vortex IQ may retrieve data while you are not actively using the platform. Connecting a service does not grant blanket permission to make changes.
How data is used
Connected account information, performance reports and tracking configuration are processed to answer your questions, prepare reports, generate AI-assisted recommendations and carry out authorised actions. Where you connect multiple services, their data may be combined in your Vortex IQ workspace to support cross-channel analysis. Relevant data may be processed by AI service providers to provide these features.
Google user data is not sold or used for unrelated advertising. Service-provider processing is limited to delivering the authorised functionality, as described in our Privacy Policy. Google user data is not used to train general-purpose AI models.
Security and Limited Use
Connections use Google OAuth 2.0 to authorise access without sharing your Google password with Vortex IQ. Access is limited by the permissions you grant and your access rights in the connected Google account.
Vortex IQ’s use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.
Our wider security programme, sub-processors and policies are published in the Trust Centre.
Data retention and user control
Connection credentials and data needed for authorised functionality may be retained while you use the integration. Our Privacy Policy explains storage, retention, service-provider processing and deletion.
You can revoke Vortex IQ’s access at any time through your Google Account connections. Revoking access prevents further authorised access to the connected service. It does not itself delete data already stored by Vortex IQ. To request deletion of stored integration data, contact helpdesk@vortexiq.ai.
Who can use it and how to get help
This integration is for authenticated Vortex IQ users, including ecommerce merchants, marketing teams and agencies working with platforms such as BigCommerce, Shopify and Adobe Commerce. The full connector catalogue is listed in the integrations hub.
