Earlier this year, Vortex IQ was selected to join the Growth Spin Accelerator, a high-impact, in-person programme backed by Google Cloud and leading ecosystem partners — focused on helping fast-scaling startups sharpen their strategy, solidify their go-to-market, and prepare for scale.

Now that we’ve completed the programme and pitched on Demo Day, we’re sharing our biggest takeaways — from customer insight and GTM refinement to partner strategy and investor readiness.

Here’s what we learned.

1. Clarity Wins Markets

Growth Spin pushed us to get radically clear on three things:

  • Who we serve
  • What outcome we deliver
  • Why our approach is 10x better than status quo

We distilled our positioning into one sentence:

Vortex IQ turns any API into an AI agent that acts — so businesses stop analysing and start optimising.

This clarity influenced everything: our investor narrative, customer messaging, and even how we name features internally.

2. Agents Need Use Cases, Not Just Intelligence

One of the most valuable lessons: “Don’t sell intelligence. Sell outcomes.”

So instead of talking about “agentic reasoning” or “multi-step planning,” we focused on:

  • SEO agents that boost product visibility
  • Inventory agents that reduce overstock
  • Analytics agents that flag performance drops
  • Backup agents that automatically roll back theme changes

That shift helped us articulate why our AI agents matter — and how they drive measurable ROI for merchants and partners.

3. The Partner Ecosystem Is the Growth Engine

Growth Spin helped us build a robust partner co-selling model, especially with:

  • BigCommerce agencies
  • Shopify Plus consultants
  • Adobe Commerce solution integrators

We learned how to:

  • Package agent use cases into partner playbooks
  • Align incentives with service delivery
  • Co-market new AI-powered offerings (like staging agents and rollback recovery)

This set the stage for our Agent Marketplace and partner portal launch.

4. Feedback Loops = Product Velocity

Through weekly feedback with mentors and other founders, we made key product decisions:

  • Added Agent Preview Mode before live execution
  • Built drag-and-drop Skill Composer in the Agent Studio
  • Refined how the MCP Server handles field-level validation

The programme didn’t just accelerate our go-to-market — it accelerated our product quality, too.

5. Fundraising Isn’t Just About Numbers — It’s About Readiness

Growth Spin helped us fine-tune our:

  • 3-minute pitch
  • Seed round strategy
  • Investor materials (deck, memo, data room)
  • Cap table planning

We emerged with a sharper story, clearer vision, and strong momentum for our £5M Seed Round, now in motion.

Final Thought

The Growth Spin Accelerator wasn’t just about speed — it was about focus, clarity, and momentum.

We walked in with a platform.
We walked out with a category-defining agentic infrastructure company that’s ready to scale.

To the Google Cloud team, mentors, and peers: thank you for backing deep tech, not just surface growth.
